Creative Okanagan is proud to be supporting the BreakOut West host committee for the 16th annual showcase festival and music industry conference here in Kelowna, Oct. 10 – 14. For the public, this event is a great opportunity to experience emerging artists in an affordable way! With music over four days there are many opportunities, check out the BreakOut West app, found on the Apple and Android app stores.
The host committee is particularly excited for the Mini-BreakOut West Family Festival on Saturday, Oct. 13 from 1 – 4 pm at the Rotary Centre for the Arts with local, can’t help but smile act, the Oot n’ Oots with three other artists such as children’s artist, JUNO and WCMA winner, Jessie Farrell!
We have been working on this project since March 2017 with The City of Kelowna, Tourism Kelowna and the Western Canadian Music Alliance. We have received financial support through a Live Music Fund grant from Creative BC, strategic event funds through the City of Kelowna and from the Province of British Columbia’s Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture to secure bringing this event to Kelowna once again!
The host committee has been led by Karma Lacoff, Executive and Creative Director of Creative Okanagan and our board President, Sonya Barker. The host committee team has been amazing and we thank them for all their hard work and time!
